Product Analytics Policy

Status: intentionally disabled · Last reviewed: 2026-07-23 CalGest does not currently load a product-analytics SDK or emit product events from the web, dashboard, mobile, or Convex backend. Sentry is configured only for scrubbed production errors; tracing, replay, logs, and default PII are disabled. This is a deliberate early-stage choice: collecting events before the team has specific product questions adds cost, consent work, and data without a clear decision it can support. The in-product Insights feature remains available; it reports each organization’s own operational data and is not cross-customer behavioral tracking. Revisit product analytics only when all of the following are available:

1. A written product question and the decision that an event will inform.
2. A minimal event schema with an owner, retention period, and success metric.
3. A privacy review covering consent, data minimization, and the public policy.
4. A free-tier budget and an alert or cap that prevents accidental overage.

Choose a vendor only after those requirements exist. Do not reintroduce an SDK, autocapture, session replay, or identity tracking as speculative groundwork.
